Crud remedy

I woke up this morning with the post-marathon crud: fever, chills, aches and hacks. Or perhaps it's the swine flu.

Whatever it is, I'm certainly not happy about having it thriving in my body, which needs to go back to bed.

Anyway, I opened my email and found this from a friend in the old neighborhood who said to spread the word to others.

Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile.

[More:]

Thanks. I needed that dose of medicine today.

Perhaps you did, too.

Yes indeed!
Remember....live every day to the fullest. Each minute is a blessing from God. And never forget....the people who make a difference in our lives are not the ones with the most Credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care for us.

If you see someone without a smile today give them one of yours! Live simply. Love seriously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God

Excellent philosophy, specifically--"break the rules." Today, more than ever, it is incumbent upon each and all to stand against this unjust, immoral, corrupt and bankrupt system. Speak truth to power. Put our bodies on the line. Just say NO MAS/NO MORE! No more wars and occupations. No more drones! No more nuclear (or other weapons of mass destruction). No more secret prisons. No more torture. No more SOA/WHINSEC. No more profits over people and the environment. No more moving wealth upward. No more homeless. No more inequality. No more health care for profit. No more injustice. For those of us who claim the title "Christian," this is intrinsic to following Jesus; it is acceptance of the cross to which we are called. If not now, when? If not us, who? Demand peace. Demand justice.
