Clintondale goes down fighting

Croswell-Lexington 27, Clintondale 26.
The thing that has kept me a sports nut for so many years is that the games inspire me – seeing athletes playing their guts out, leaving it all on the field, rising above their talent level.
I saw that from both teams on the gridiron at Clintondale High School tonight.
Congratulations to Croswell-Lexington for its regional championship and good luck next weekend.
To the Dragons: Hang your heads high. It was one helluva season, and the blog was lucky to have you as its home team.
The margin of victory came on a Croswell-Lexington field goal with 42 seconds remaining. But the outcome wasn’t sealed until the final play.
Clintondale drove all the way to the Croswell-Lexington 25, and with 6 seconds left, quarterback Michael Delano-Johnson threw a pass to the back of the end zone that had Daniel Sawicki’s name on it; however, a Croswell-Lexington defender wrestled the ball away from him as time expired.
Sawicki, No. 42 in the picture, had three touchdowns against Croswell-Lexington. He set a school record with five touchdowns in a victory over Madison Heights Lamphere to open the playoffs two weeks ago.
Comments, Pingbacks:
Congrads on a great season! Clintodale faired far better than R.O. Shrine as we got beat 32 to 14 by a real good team from Ubley.
