Jon Stewart lampoons Kwame Kilpatrick

Leave it to “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” to put Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick’s antics into perspective.

This would be hilarious if it were about another city’s mayor and not ours.

Click here to watch the video.

[More:]

So while the neighborhoods crumble, this man stays in office, fights off his critics with vile rhetoric and has an entire nation laughing at us now.

But, oh, how he loves his Detroit.

Sex scandals and politicians seemingly are synonymous. The fifty-something year old mayor of L.A. also was caught in one with a local thirty-something year old Spanish TV news anchor about one year ago that saw a separation, public scandal, quick divorce, and an immediate wedding engagement with his mistress, who then lost her position at NBC-Telemundo, while the mayor slid through unscathed in popularity, even though the news media grilled him for months.

Sex scandals with politicos and high ranking officials in government have been going on for many, many years....rumors have it General Ulysses S. Grant had several mistresses when he was the top general in the Civil War....we all know about president Kennedy and his women, and rumors about LBJ abound too.....President Eisenhower reportedly had affairs with nurses in WW II....Bill had his Monica....King Kwame has his Jezebel - Christine Beatty. Former presidential candidate Gary Hart had hot pants for Donna Rice.....the lord only knows how many other politicians have had hot pants for any kind of woman. It seems that sex and taxes go along with being a politician in general - and plenty of lying. If Kwame Kilpatrick told me grass was green I would have to look out the window to see the lawn....!!!!
It will probably get to the point soon that all these affairs will not mean much to the general public....even the catholic church hiding dirt under the rug with the priest malfeasance will fade too....all the popes who knew about this lied to the laity. Get used to it......Mike Brachakowski******

Mike et al:

This isn't about sex, never should have been portrayed that way by the media; this is about firing cops for seeking the truth, then raping the city of 9 million dollars after lying about it.
