Hey Banned 13 Times Vested Poster...

Another poster with no life outside this board. I changed my mind and decided to just boycott Comerica Park in 2010. Makes more sense to not surrender Ilitch $1500 versus boycotting this Tigers messageboard in dispute of the Magglio vesting. Venting on this messageboard does nothing to reduce Ilitch's banmk account. That's why I returned instead of boycotting this board.

Why don't you mind your own business anyways Woodpecker!! I wasn't conversing with you earlier. Try taking the dog for a walk or go see a new movie -- versus spending all you awake time glued to this Tigers messageboard.

Get a life loser=troll!!! Have you picked out your 14th screen name here yet?

Jeter

I'm betting on Mauer.

Sun. 11/22/09 09:49 PM

Jeter

Is a lock for AL MVP and well deserved too!

Don't you have a life away from this board? Your 2:26PM reply to me that was 39 lines long was a big waste of your time. I already stated that Dombrowski had contract issues. Why the heck did you post all those questionable contracts? I never disputed those. I chastise Dombrowski's contract-doings alot. I As afar as his trades go, why did you leave out the good ones?

Why did you leave out the attendance records under his helm? How about the gift shop sales records? How about the concession profit records produced under Dombrowski? How about the Word Series visit? How about the All Star Game contracted to Comerica Park? Darn good W-L record the past four seasons combined -- in comparison to past years of Randy Smith and others prior.

How come you didn't waste another 39 lines and 45 minutes to produce that post on those good things accomplished by Dombrowski??

Cabrera

The Tiger web site has him under consideration for MVP. I suppose it's possible that he makes the top ten, but I can't imagine he'd be a serious factor. Still, it might be great fun in this forum if he placed ahead of Jeter.

Some poster conveniently forgets that he said he'd never watch this team or post here again after Magglio vested.

Since Sheffield is still getting some pay from Detroit, he could probably talk somebody into signing him for a bit lower price, unless that lower price is beneath his dignity or something.

The saying goes that there's always a market for left handed relievers and backup catchers; I guess you could add 40+YO DH types to that, regardless how many failures they've had.

I wonder what Edgar Martinez is doing these days. John Kruk could probably still hit.

Some folks can't seem to recall the pizz-poor management regimes of 14 years prior to Dombrowski.

Such posters are far from splendid with their memory.

Master Sheff Still Cooking

Gary Sheffield saw a number of veterans iced out of last year's free-agent market (Frank Thomas, Paul Lo Duca, Dave Roberts) and doesn't want to follow suit, telling the Boston Globe of his dedication to remaining in top shape and that he "can go out and hit at least 25 and maybe up to 40 home runs for some team if I get the chance."

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!

BigPaw...I'd have no qualms over a big Cabrera Trade either...but its a lot harder to pull off with his deal as we both know. Even though the Red Sox basically print money they are probably more interested in getting Gonzalez from the Padres because he has an insanely cheap deal for the next couple of years. The Padres' new GM should really be able to re-stock his organization moving that guy. Perhaps if the Red Sox can't get a deal done w/the Padres they'd make a play for Cabrera.

Wingnut....I think the M's are the frontrunners for Jackson right now if I were handicapping things. But I really doubt they could pull off the blockbuster for both. In time the Cubs will almost certainly put their best offer on the table for Granderson and we'll just have to see if DD pulls the trigger. But I agree with you that you have the right names from the Yankees....I just wonder if they'll really move the Montero kid....they really have the hype-machine going for him. He's probably still at least a year away I'd bet as well.

Its going to get interesting....there would be nothing wrong w/DD holding on to Granderson and Jackson...I won't argue against that much.....but I think the "where there is smoke there is fire" rule applies here. Some kind of deal is going to go down I think.

Mariners

Hey Yoop, I do not think the Mariners have enough to get even one of Granderson or Jackson, unless a 3rd team is involved. I see the Yankees and the only club that has enough tradable parts on their own to get both Grandy and EJ in the same deal. Austin Jackson, Montero, Phillip Hughes and one other prospect would do it. We put Austin in as the starting CF, Montero shares catching duties with Laird [Alvia gets one more year seasoning, he needs it] and Hughes is either in the pen or the starting rotation, depending upon how the injured pitchers do in ST. If the Yankees do not want to part with Montero, I make them take Guillen in the deal.

Mariners

Morrow, in spite of his wild live arm which the Tigers seem to crave these days, is an injury prone high draft choice who has never lived up to his draft position. Isn't he kinda "light" by himself for an all star caliber player like Granderson?

Sun. 11/22/09 08:15 PM

Mariners

The huge Sexson contract expired last year, and this year, they finished paying Beltre. Yes, they've had their share of exhorbitant paychecks.

Seattle is one of the few places that would appropriately move Granderson to left.

I'd still rather move Cabrera.
