Rich Rod
Terry Foster's analogy is a bad one: The embargo against Cuba has been a failure all the way around for nearly 50 years. However, it appears he is trying - his reasons he will have - to put a burner under UNM boosters to get Rodriguez fired. I am one alumni (Class of 81, from a family of Wolverines) who does not support the idea.
UM Fans Quit Whining
I am so tired of hearing my fellow UM fans whining about Rodriguez. Two years ago these are the same people who were complaining that Lloyd Carr's offense was too bland and winning 9 games a year wasn't good enough.
So UM goes out and gets the flashy new guy on the market who has a completely different system that anyone with a brain knows doesn't get implemented over night. And now fans are complaining about how this isn't Michigan football and we need to go get Harbaugh to return to "big ten football". How quickly they have forgotten that they were just complaining about that style of ball two years ago.
Also, let's not forget that Rodriguez was once the hot commodity that Harbaugh is now.
RR is safe - LaLoyd is to blame
Just like Obamam RR has at least 1 more year of blaming someone else before he takes accountability - in the case of RR his excuse is a bit more understandable.
LaLoyd left the cupboard bare and a loss of 18 months of recruiting is being seen on the field now - let's see what happens with the next recruiting class which will place about 50% of RR players in the program.
I will say this if anyone goes it needs to be the entire Defensive Coaching staff side of the ball. Probably wont happen, but their game planning and failure to execute or adjust at the half were responsible for most if not all of the losses.
Terry - hypothetical scenarios are not how programs are built, if that's the case - then what if RR recruits the top player at every defensive position this year?
Sportswriters should be held accountable
Sportswriters should be held accountable for what they say. I love it when they constantly throw something out there hoping that one of these days something they say actually comes true. Then they can say "Look how smart I am". Yeah, but look how dumb you look every other time.
The unforgettable Palace Brawl
Unfortunately I was unable to listen to your show this afternoon but I really did wish I did, because I would have called in to air my disgust.
This is an event our family will never forget, because of the pure ignorance of individuals who do not know how to conduct themselves in public.
Because of the disrespect these individuals displayed on that horrible night at the Palace, individuals have experienced constant pain resulting from their injuries, the past 5 years have been Hell for them.
I have been told the individuals interviewed were quite jovial this afternoon, gee you never seem to interview the victims but then I am sure they are not quite as exciting, I know how you guys always love a good fight.
Let me know how you feel if it was your child who suffered the injury. I can assure you you would be furious as I am that you would actually waste your time on these guys.
Tigers in decline
"It will still be fun to go to Comerica next summer but the pop corn, beer and people watching will be the main attractions."
How can the beer be an attraction at those prices?!!?
Pistons should trade Prince for big man
"Wouldn't Los Angeles Clippers center Chris Kamen look good in a Pistons uniform?"
Yeah, they should have drafted him instead of Darko in 2004! (I was never a Carmello fan.)
Bad blue?
I think ur right on terry.Get rid of that old as defensive co an bring in a young fresh mind to the defense.I don't think the team wants to play for robinson. His schemes are terrible. He has that old 1960's stlye of coaching bed but dont break. Where done with that we need to attack make the offense change to what were doing. The corner are 10 yards off every play they cant tackle and the zone gets beat all game.If you cant play man to man ur not going pro any way.Get rid of robinson NOWWWWWWWWW!

Not repeating the Magglio mistake
Yes, Terry, you're right that the Ordonez contract will put a huge hole in the Tigers' ability to obtain talented veterans. But part of the problem has been their insistence on obtaining untalented veterans, like Huff and Washburn, or not quite good enough players, like Everett and Laird.
Mark my comment on two things. Placido Polanco will, if he has the chance, sign with a warm weather team for the sake of avoiding playing where it might get cold. Two, he is on the decline of his career, and his gold glove was due to not committing errors (a combination of limited range and generous scorekeeping) and resentment of the Red Sox and Yankee second basemen.
The Tigers need to keep Leyland out of the talent acquisition mix: there can be no doubt he was a big part of the following acquisitions: Neifi Perez, Gary Sheffield, Edgar Renteria, and Aubrey Huff. All of them were bad (not unlucky) choices, veterans whose best days were far behind them. He also kept Ordonez in the lineup when he was hitting the softest .400 in recent major league history, despite that doing so was to keep him for another year while making it impossible to obtain another capable player.
Compare the Tigers' late season acquisitions with those of the Twins. And the Twins finished 17-4, and the Tigers lost a three game lead with four to play.
The Tigers will still put a moderately entertaining product on the field, but it is long past time to get Leyland out of the manager's spot, not for his game strategy, but for his poor choices on whom to acquire and play.
Let's not repeat the Magglio mistake.lions
should we have any faith in the lions latest rebuilding project?I like the schwartz but is this new coach here just so we can be convinced to give then another new coach pass, will we be giving them a pass again in three more years? It seems to me that the new g m drafts the sexy player just like the old g m!terry, my question is am i wrong for crying every sunday or are the lions wrong for making me cry? signed, your friend scott(sniff sniff)
tigers
terry, with thames gone and granderson and jackson on the block that means no more black players on the team this seems strange where are all the black players going?for a team that struggles with team speed i dont get it
Tigers
The reason the Tigers would have to give up younger and marketable talent like Jackson and Granderson is because of the horrible contracts they are locked into with older and unmarketable guys like Guillen, Ordonez & Robertson as well as the unmarketable contracts of Bonderman and Willis. It will be another two years before they are rid of all of those bad deals.
Tigers
Billbig are you talking about the LIONS.
Tigers
Terry- you are right and congratulations on not being a cheerleader for what will be a cheap product--baseball in Detroit needs new ownership and management, until then only the die hards will be at the ballpark---
