Category: Voter Disconnect

Posted by Mako Yamakura on Tue, Nov 3, 2009 at 8:04 PM

For the Politicos.

Politico.com will be holding direct returns from Virginia, New York, etc. in easy-to-read formats. Mako out.

UPDATE: And like a minute in, Mr. Deeds is Toast. By an overwhelming 2:1 margin, Virginia is red again. Wowza.

Election Results - Virginia

I agree with TDC on the factors for 2010, tonight's limited referendum and I really enjoyed his quote selection...

But I beleive this will make the moderate Democrats on the Hill think twice about enacting liberal health care and environmental reforms...

Even If (and thats a big IF) the GOP sweeps tonight, I don't believe its a predictor for the mid-term elections next year.

The GOP will claim its a major victory, and the 'dems will say the opposite. The *only* (imo)significant impact will be on the congressional 'dems. If the "moderate" / blue dogs feel their seats are at risk due to supporting the House version of "health Care Reform". "Cap-N-Tax" climate legislation, etc... they may not be willing to blindly follow Obama, Pelosi, Reid, etc...

Relative to next years elections..this doesn't mean anything (imo)

Tell me how the economy is doing this time next year, and I'll make a decent prediction how each party does.
