Detroit, Mich. - Michigan just experienced its coldest July on record; global temperatures haven't risen in more than a decade; Great Lakes water levels have resumed their 30-year cyclical rise (contrary to a decade of media scare stories that they were drying up due to global warming), and polls show that climate change doesn't even make a list of Michigan voters' top-ten concerns.
Yet in an interview with the Detroit News Monday, Senator Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.) - recently appointed to the Senate Energy Committee - made clear that fighting the climate crisis is her top priority.
"Climate change is very real," she confessed as she embraced cap and trade's massive tax increase on Michigan industry - at the same time claiming, against all the evidence, that it would not lead to an increase in manufacturing costs or energy prices. "Global warming creates volatility. I feel it when I'm flying. The storms are more volatile. We are paying the price in more hurricanes and tornadoes."
And there are sea monsters in Lake Michigan. I can feel them when I'm boating.

Global Warming
Dr. Moon, when you say Obama was able to ram the stimulus bill past the people, without our imput, (input) you are the person Glen Beck is talking about who is distorting reality and way too happy taking shots at a surrogate enemy. The real enemy is the inability to get a message advanced that out of control spending by either the red or the blue must stop aka march on Washington, tea bag parties are working.
Telling people they are wrong or stupid, creates and fuels an opposition that otherwise may not want much different that you.
Obama told America what is was hungry to hear. What makes you think it won't happen in the future with another guy - red or blue?
Let's move forward to the next election, when you have your input you claim not to have, and what will you do? Vote for anyone just to get rid of Obama??
So many of these posts are tit-for-tat accusations and it's only setting us up for another election that puts the wrong guy in office. Obama is done and smaller government is a growing realization - except we have no one to get us there - yet. Appealing to Americans on principle such as less government, less spending, more emphasis on self reliance than socialist invasions into a democratic republic society is the goal. Liberals and conservatives will not join together as long as the sniping supplants anything and everything else.
As Glen Beck said, both sides are guilty of growing government and horrific spending with no shortage of dupes defending their side and slamming the other side when both the red and blue are doing this country no good.
The message isn't just how to get the other guy out of office since that put Obama in office to a large degree. He's not THAT great of an orator. There had to be something more and something more is brewing again to put someone, anyone but Obama in office which could put us back in the position of spending money we don't have on programs we can't afford or justify.
I am not a Glen Beck groupie however, if he or anyone else makes sense I have to give credit where it's due.

It's amazing how during a recession all these conservatives insist a republican candidate is the way out! It's because of non-action on their jobs the GOP ( greedy old poops) made this mess of an economy. They were removed from power and NOW think they have the answer.

The Senators comments only proves your educational level should NOT exceed elementary school to be an elected official. In fact, based on her commenets it appears it is a requirement to have an IQ of less then 60. Between our Senators and the Governor this state is slowly sinking into the abyss.
Stabenow's climate hysteria
This is my email to our complicit Senator.
Senator Stabenow:
Your recalcitrant support of the specter of anthropogenic global warming, despite your constituents better interests and most credible scientific evidence, is transparently associated with shady political agendas.
What is your agenda when you rigidly endorse a concept that you can not articulately defend? Your defense of this notion is reinforced by your experience of turbulence in an aircraft?
What is your agenda when the hypocrisy of your purpose is realized by the people? Al Gore's estate, when he is not flying his carbon spewing jet around the world, uses 21 times the energy of an average home. What are you doing to reduce your carbon footprint when you are not assessing and calculating climate catastrophes from your seat in an airplane.
What is your agenda when your talisman directly contradicts the blatantly obvious needs of Michigan and it's people.
Anthropogenic global warming is not a crisis or even a concern. It is a political/economical manipulation and scare tactic and nothing more. The common people are becoming aware of the rhetoric.
Besides, who cares is the world is a half degree warmer?
Who do you serve? Apparently not the Michigan voters.

Granholm (D), thankfully, is out of office after next year. Hopefully, we can elect someone who is conservative, sensible, and didn't spend nearly all his/her life on the left coast (Granholm didn't make it as a Hollywood starlet) or in Harvard Law School. She has been a disaster for Michigan, although she at least is having some hesitation about putting Gitmo terrorists into state penitentiaries.
Which is more than can be said for Barf Stupid (D), who wants to transplant them to the UP. He is also up for re-election next year. But, he keeps getting returned to office because he's a Democrat, and the first district is predominantly donkey. I'd like to see a decent challenger from the GOP, as well as someone to give him a run for his money in a Democratic primary. I've been following his activities for several months now, and his rationalizations for things like cap and trade, the stimulus, and the health care fiasco are beyond comprehension. He has yet to respond to my query about compromising the safety and security of Michigan by relocating Gitmo creeps here. The only thing that is crystal clear is that he votes along party lines 86% of the time.
As for Stabenow (D), she was just returned for another six years, and we won't have another chance to get rid of her until 2014, which is probably why she's being so boneheaded now. It's safe to be stupid and arrogant when you know your job's safe for 5 1/2 more years. Carl Levin (D) isn't up until 2012. Big brother Sander Levin (D) is up in 2010.
And this is just a sampling of the US Congressional delegation. Notice, though, how they all have (D) after their names. Getting the picture yet?

First the Economic Crisis used as an excuse to cram through the largest spending bill in History, $ 3 Trillion dollars. Now the Health care Crisis is causing the economy to remain weak, according to Obama if we don't pass this Trillion dollar reform bill, the Nation will crumble. Next up, Global Warming. G W will cause catastrophic destruction if not solved NOW so says Obama, Gore, Stabenow and other democratic environment specialist.
Obama was able to ram the stimulus bill past the people, without our imput, $3.7 trillion dollars of our money. They've been trying to do the same with Health Care; cram it through without our advice, only we're getting smarter, we've slowed it down and we've been asking questions no one can answer. The American people have been exercising their right by demanding to know the truth about this bill. With HC on temporary hold, the democrats and Obama are already cranking up the GW fears to pass the grand daddy of all scams, cap and trade.
I didn't realize Michigan had such a talented Senator, Debbie Stabenow, who can actually feel the global warming while flying in a plane. I wonder what it feels like since the earth's surface temperture hasn't increased in over ten years. Last winter was the Coldest Winter on record in Michigan and this Summer has been the coolest on record in history. This trend is prevalent across the whole US. The Senator also informed us about the increase in hurricanes due to GW. Where, in Lake Michigan? Once again the truth is not about jobs, health care cost, uninsured or global Warming, it's all about power. All of these crisis are about allowing the democrats to control the majority of American Industry which means controlling every aspect of our lives. This is why Obama and the Communists Democrats are hurrying to get these bills passed, before more American People wake up, see what's in these bills and tell the government to keep their grubby hands off our Country and our Freedom.

Sorry, Chris, we've been trying but keep getting kaboshed by the union thugs and certain cities that only look for the 'D' after a politician's name. Most of Michigan that doesn't live in Detroit would LOVE to get rid of her. Now that half of Detroit has left the state, maybe we have a chance.
