30 students win McDonald's scholarships

Southeastern Michigan McDonald's Operators Association recently awarded 30 student employees with $1,000 scholarships.

The organization, which represents 53 owners/operators of McDonald's restaurants, awarded students based on their job performance, the submission of an essay, recommendation by a supervisor and a satisfactory grade point average.

The scholarships may be applied toward tuition, books, classroom materials, housing and any other educational expense.

The 2009 winners are:
