Nuno felt scarf workshop Oct. 24th at Detroit Waldorf School

Learn the art of nuno felting with Detroit Waldorf School's handwork instructor Beth Krause Saturday, Oct. 24th, during the school's Knit-A-Thon Cast Off event.

The $75 fee includes all supplies for making a scarf. Class size is limited to six people per session. Two sessions are scheduled: 9:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.

Nuno felting is a Japanese technique that combines loose fibers, most often wool, into a fine piece of cloth used for making lightweight garments.

Detroit Waldorf School is located at 2555 Burns St. in Detroit. For more information, call (313) 822-0300.

For more details about the school's Knit-A-Thon Cast Off event, please see Tuesday's story on the benefits of students learning to knit.
