Style

mixing jay:

Those same small cars you see on the East coast, you can see here in Detroit and anywhere else in the USA.

Your suggesting Ford "copy" that styling to do what? It certainly isn't to improve their market share, since Ford is the only american manufacturer that didn't get any assistance from the Federal Government to remaion solvent and their sales figures are not something to be ashemed of!

I and others like myself, experienced in the Automotive Designing part of the car business, don't feel those "eastern" models are any more appealing than our own, home, Ford designed products.

Fuel-efficient Chrysler and Jeep Wrangler

And the american carburetor named "Fish" offered this same high mileage in the 50's!

What happened to this technology?

Fiat's Multi Air engine technology

Didn't Chrysler experement with the "lean burn engine technology", some years ago, when GM and Ford were experementing with the catyletic converter for cleaner emissions and improved gas mileage?

If so, this NEW Fiat engine technology is old hat.

NO brakes or accleration

My lincoln 1979 model on the way home...i couldnot get any accleration and had to guide the car HOME into my local gasstaion.He fellow there came out ..why are you bringing your car here?

I unlocked the hood and there was fire under and around the engine, he and the gasstation attendent across the street came with" FIREESTING BOTTLES"BUT BOOTH DIDNOT WORK...luckly the firestation was 500 feet and the firetruck came promply!

I bought a 1978 Lincoln after that but that car give my 261,000 mile and "IF I didnot " put engine cleaner into it to give more gasolinemilages..it cloack-up the Engine..I still would be driving it.In hinsite I should have had that engine rebuild!I still miss my Lincoln.

uaw at fault for toyata problems

geessssssssssssssssss everyone has to blame the other fellow when they get in trouble ; uaw hasnt tryed to hamper toyota that was the workers job to put the cars togeather they were not the engineers who drew up the plans for the cars ;put the blame where it belongs and not on uaw workers those people were just doing their jobs they had no quarrel with toyota ;they put in their hours of work and were trying to survive is all

put the blame where it belongs on toyota engineers ;thanks tony for backing the uaw ;uaw staff its self may be to blame for alot of things i dont agree with but not trying to do something that would cause the workers to be out of work geessssssssssssssssss what next give me a break thanks

uaw at fault for toyata problems

ericatara - GM's problems go a lot deeper than being bettered by another competitor, perceived or not; maintaining a production capability that could support a SAAR in excess of 18MM with GM having 23 - 25% of the market; cost structures that forced them to push suppliers into a never ending price reduction mode, with the resulting quality, durability and maintenance issues; massive over production with the unrealistic dream of recapturing market share; poor consumer perceptions that forced almost continuous discounting to move unsold inventory; GM says that they have reinvented themselves since emerging from bankruptcy, but look closely and you'll see the same dreamworld approach to today's market; they may have improved vehicle quality, but they haven't addressed the over production issue - ex some people are waiting up to 7 wks for a Camaro, yet as of the end of Feb 2010, GM has produced ~ 25 - 30,000 more Camaros than have been sold; why can't they build the vehicles that are sold???; still the same old GM

uaw at fault for toyata problems

this is totally false i agree completely with you;

if that were true ford would have went down to the gov as gm did ;

gm might not have went under had toyotas problems been known as you say;

i agree completely hope more here agree also you have to put the blame where it belongs not on uaw ;thanks

Fuel-efficient Chrysler and Jeep Wrangler

This news is exciting. It is good that some companies are already developing fuel efficient vehicles. I wonder what are the materials used on the motor parts and the capabilities it can deliver.

Aston Martin 4-Seater

Overall, the car looks good and stylish. I also love it that it is able to deliver 188 mph. However, this just remains in one my wishes because I cannot afford the hefty price tag. I am just going to stick to a second hand 1991 Aston Martin Virage in which I am rebuilding its water pump now.
