The cheating is back

David Shephardson's interview on McNeil Lehrer last week very well spoken. Request you pose questions to GM and Ford execs why they believe it is necessary to cheat in order to sell their products? Calling cars that get only 17 mpg 'ecoboost' is ridiculous. I tried to purchase a Cadillac and was offered 5-year finance at 0% but when I went to actually order the vehicle, the total cost for 5 year payout vs all cash down was higher by nearly 10%! They labelled the extra amount something other than "finance charge" but it's still an additional charge, NOT WHAT WAS ADVERTISED.

I think I will stick with the Japanese.

Mercury

I don't think Mercury is going. Ford is going to save it and I believe they are creating ways to increase the efficiency of its mercury parts.

Loyalty fades for domestic brands

So the cash for clunkers program was a great boost for the off shore manufacturers. Helps keep Michigan working.

Ecoboost

That's great that Ford that offering this technology to all its vehicle lines. This is a good move for Ford to have this implemented to improve performance on its vehicles and ford parts.

30 mpg trucks

This is a challenge to truck manufacturers to create such vehicles that would deliver 30 mpg. this will take a lot of research. Considering this mandate, it is possible that truck and its parts such as be much lighter. Personally, I would go for lighter/smaller truck than ford big trucks and ford truck parts

Ford, be careful what you step into

well i dont have any comments against Ford.. infact Ford for me was the best carmaker in the automotive industry.. Ford was still number one in producing competitive models all over the world.. so its not an interrogative if they built expensive truck cars or parts such as ford truck wheels, hi-tech engines, car accessories as long as they are consistent and produced good quality..

Electrics from Chrysler

The electric concepts shown by Chrysler over the past couple of years were halo cars. If they don't come to fruition, c'est la vie. Chrysler will, however, have to produce an electric with a reasonable volume at some point. The reason is simple mathematics; EPA mileage ratings for electrics are off the charts, as witnessed by the Volt's 230 mpg. To achieve the newly mandated CAFE standards within the timeframe required, each money-losing Volt can offset 12 profitable Silverados (20 mpg) while still maintaining a fleet average in excess of 36 mpg. If the trucks sold average 15 mpg, the ratio is 9:1 - still pretty good.

That dynamic is a strong motivator for a company like Chrysler where Ram trucks are about the only profitable line going. The way electric "mileage" is measured, rumors of the thirsty car's demise may have been exaggerated.

Chrysler New Product Advertisers Owe Consumers An Apology !

There was a comment on this site from Chrysler advertizers that was completly in disregard fot their truck buyers !They claim the new designed Ram is :for The Real Truck Consumers , not for the Urban Wannabes that never put a load in their truck ! What Audasity ! I have bought New Dodge 4x4 Trucks for the last 20 years ,and I never heard anyone use that type of strategy to market a vehicles ! I am pretty sure that a lot of other truck buyers would resent those remarks also ! Would you call a Chrysler Plant Shop Manager a Urban Wannabe to his face ? If I had to guess the age of that individual ,I would be willing to guess that he or she has not been out of school long or not enough in the real world to know how to advertize !

Kia Venga

The upgrade for its kia auto parts also include the following: sliding 60/40 split rear seat that folds flat into the floor and a twin-level boot floor. The engine is also good enough for city and it the height of this vehicle is said to be greater than that of a Corolla
